Words that have different meaning for introverts.

“Weekend”

What it usually means:
Work is over, and now it’s time to PARTY.
What it means to an introvert:
Work is over, you no longer have to be around your co-workers, and now it’s time to recharge at home. THANK THE GODS.

“Daydream”

What it usually means:
Something you occasionally do when you’re bored in a meeting.
What it means to an introvert:
Something you do almost all the time and are often caught doing.

“Happy Hour”

What it usually means:
The time after work when you go and get drinks with co-workers or friends.
What it means to an introvert:
The time after work when you go home and sit quietly by yourself so you can recover from being around co-workers all day.

“Enthusiasm”

What it usually means:
When you are so excited that you want to express your happiness to the world.
What it means to an introvert:
Something you are often forced to fake in groups of people.

“Surprise!”

What it usually means:
Something pleasantly unexpected, like a gift, party, or piece of information.
What it means to an introvert:
Seriously, don't ever throw us surprise parties.

“Quiet”

What it usually means:
Being calm and peaceful.
What it means to an introvert:
The most beautiful thing in the whole freaking world.

“All-nighter”

What it usually means:
Staying out all night until the damn sun rises.
What it means to an introvert:
Depending on how drained from all the social interaction, the night will end anywhere between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m.

“Spontaneous”

What it usually means:
Making an impulse decision without any thought or plan behind it.
What it means to an introvert:
Terrifying. Not. Gonna. Do. It.

“Party”

What it usually means:
A large gathering of people who just want to have fun together.
What it means to an introvert:
Fun. Until you get there and realize there are tons of people you’ll need to talk to and the thought of that is exhausting, and… why did you agree to go to this again?!

“Guilty”

What it usually means:
How you feel when you’ve done something wrong.
What it means to an introvert:
How people make you feel when you don’t have the energy to hang out.

“Alone Time”

What it usually means:
The worst thing ever. Sad, really.
What it means to an introvert:
Something you crave every damn day.

“Home”

What it usually means:
Where you live, sleep, and binge-watch Netflix.
What it means to an introvert:
The happiest, most relaxing, and comfortable place on earth. WANT TO GO TO THERE.
